Donegal GAA supporters have been warned to be prepared for traffic delays this Sunday, as All-Ireland champions Armagh come to Ballybofey.

The Allianz League Division 1 match between the sides will take place at MacCumhaill Park at 3.45pm and a large crowd is expected.

“There is available parking throughout several car parks around town and we advise people to utilise these areas fully.” Garda Siochana spokesperson said.

“To ensure a free flow of traffic, with such large attendance, any vehicles causing an obstruction will be towed. This will be done to ensure a free flow of traffic pre and post-match.

“Traffic delays are to be expected both before and after the match. While we endeavour to assist traffic movement as much as possible, the large numbers attending will result in unavoidable delays. Adding additional time for your journey is advised.

“Parking will be available in several car parks around the town,” a garda spokesperson said. “We advise people to utilise these areas fully.”

For Blue Badge holders there is limited parking at the stand entrance car park - via the Back Road at Jacksons Hotel - as well as the main street and car parks near the ground.

Donegal’s opened their Division 1 campaign with a 0-20 to 0-16 win over Dublin two weeks ago in front of 12,650 in Ballbofey and Armagh have a sizable support, with their season ticket holders alone being in the region of 3,000.
