Donegal native and Coolera-Strandhill player Sean Taylor
Donegal native Sean Taylor has been named on the GAA club championship football Team of the Year following his instrumental role in Coolera-Strandhill's historic 2024 season.
The team achieved a first-ever Connacht Senior Club Football Championship title, marking a significant milestone for the Sligo club.
The selected footballers will be honoured at the AIB Club Player Awards ceremony this Friday where the Player of the Year awards will also be revealed.

The nominees for the men's Football Club Player of the Year are Con O'Callaghan of Cuala, Ruairí Canavan of Errigal Ciaran, and Micheál Burns of Dr Crokes.
Taylor's journey to this achievement is noteworthy. A former player with Aodh Ruadh and the Donegal minor team, he moved to Sligo in 2023 to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. There, he joined Coolera-Strandhill, contributing to their Sligo county senior championship victory and earning the club's Player of the Year award.
In August 2024, Taylor began working with Harlequins Rugby Club in London as their Academy strength and conditioning coach. Despite the professional commitments, he continued to play a pivotal role with Coolera-Strandhill, commuting weekly to train and compete.
His dedication was evident as he traveled extensively between Ireland and the UK, balancing his coaching responsibilities with his passion for Gaelic football.
Taylor's inclusion in the Team of the Year highlights his exceptional contributions both on and off the field, reflecting a year of remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment to his sport.
