St Eunan’s went three from three in Division 1 of the All-County Football League, although they were asked plenty of questions by Malin.

Eoin McGeehin was in fine form for Barry Meehan’s team, with a personal haul of 2-4, while Conor O’Donnell Jnr hit six points. At the other end, Malin, who had drawn their opening two fixtures away to Downings and then at home to Four Masters, saw
Seamus Houghton score two goals and Josh Conlon hit two fine two-pointers.

Houghton and McGeehin both landed goals inside of the first three minutes. After that whirlwind start, St Eunan’s asserted themselves with a 2-6 to 1-2 lead by the 20th minute, with McGeehin's second goal coming on 14.

Even by that early stage, the centre-foward had racked up 2-3, with O’Donnell having scored twice and Oisin Scanlon the opening point.

By half-time though, Malin had grabbed a second goal with Aidan Doherty the scorer on 24, so the Inishowen team were 2-7 to 2-4 down at the break, still very much in it.

Malin had shown their eye for goal at O’Donnell Park last season, with a 3-5 to 1-11 draw. Aside that St Eunan’s were also beaten at Kilcar and at home to Gaoth Dobhair early on last term and this season, they’ve six points from three against the same sides.

Phillip O’Donnell’s two early scores in the second half, added to one from Oran Winston, made for a lead of 2-10 to 2-4 for the Letterkenny team. Malin kept plugging away, though, with Christy McLaughlin and Paul McLaughlin registering.'
St Eunan’s managed five quickfire scores late on, with Noel O’Donnell among the scores and although Malin saw Conlon hit another two-pointer and a goal from Houghton in the closing stages, they can take plenty from their trip to the Cathedral Town. St Eunan’s are trucking along nicely, although early days it certainly is yet.
