Luke McGlynn hit two first half goals for Glenfin
Glenfin needed to win well to continue their run in the U-21B championship and they did just that when they went to a wet and windy Pearse Memorial Park, Ardara.
Ardara 0-2
Glenfin 4-5
The 15-point win ensures that their score difference was enough as they joined the losers and Naomh Muire, Lower Rosses on four points.
Conditions were so bad at one stage in the opening half that referee Jimmy White took the players off the field for a short period to shelter from the wind, rain and hailstone shower.
At that stage - on 20 minutes - Glenfin were 1-1 to no score ahead, Daniel Marley opening the scoring with a point and Luke McGlynn firing home a goal.
On the resumption McGlynn struck for a second goal to leave it 2-1 to no score at the break.
Glenfin kept the pedal down with an Odhran O’Connor goal, another Daniel Marley point followed by a third from Darragh Carroll to lead 3-3 to no score.
Ardara did get a couple of points before the end but points from Adam and Shaun Marley and a fourth goal from Eoin McGarrell sealed the win in style.
