Kilybegs 300-metre pier has accommodated much bigger cruise ships in the past, including the 294-metre MS Queen Elizabeth in 2018.
Allowing cruise ships to stop off in Killybegs generates economic opportunities for local businesses in the county, with passengers booking bus trips to Glencomcille, Sliabh Liag, Donegal Town, or even just relaxing in Killybegs itself.
The stop off in Killybegs is part of a tour of Ireland, including stops at Dublin, Cork, Bantry, Galway, Derry, and Bangor.
