Planning application submitted for The Goose and Gander Pub and Pizzeria in Downings.

A Donegal pub and pizzeria has sought planning permission from Donegal County Council for the extension to give a “more defined appearance” its popular premises.

The listed applicant, Chris Healy, has submitted the planning application regarding The Goose and Gander Pub and Pizzeria in Larganreagh, Downings.

A cover letter included in support of the application, written by Michael McBride on behalf of the applicant, stated: “The applicant wishes to build a modest extension to the front of these premises, adding an additional 35sqm of space.

“The extension will add further onto a previous flat roof extension and will give the property a more defined appearance that is more in keeping with the public face of the property that has been renovated in the last number of years.

“The property is well serviced with parking both on-site and on-street parking and parking at the GAA centre opposite. The business is a thriving business adding much-needed employment and amenity to the area.”

Donegal County Council has announced a decision due date for the submitted planning application for December 17.
