Donegal Family Resource Centre at Upper Main Street
Planning permission is being sought from Donegal County Council for a new family resource centre in Donegal Town, on behalf of Donegal Family Resource Centre CLG.
The site is located in Ardeskin, in the southwest of Donegal Town, and as part of the submitted application, the applicants are also applying for a change of use of a building.
Firstly, applicants are applying for retention planning permission for a previous change of use from a dwelling house to a doctor's surgery, followed by an application for a change of use from a doctor’s surgery to a family resource centre building.
The Family Resource Centre building is planned to have a reception area, office accommodation, meeting rooms, counselling rooms and ancillary staff facilities.

Donegal Family Resouce Centre is a not-for-profit community development project part funded by the Irish Government and a registered charity, and currently has a base on Upper Main Street in Donegal Town.
A decision is due by Donegal County Council on September 10.
The centre provides information, advice and support to meet the needs of individuals and groups, including a full office service, free internet access, counselling and holistic therapies, meeting rooms, afterschool, elderly supports/activites, mental health initatives, agency outreach services, family support and Youth support services.
