Glenswilly National School gains planning permission for new sports pitch

Conditional planning permission has been granted by Donegal County Council to Glenswilly National School for the construction of a sports pitch, associated flood lights and ball stops, together with all other site development.

The school, whose famous alumni include Michael Murphy and the late rally driver Manus Kelly, aims to provide improved sporting facilities for its students and the local community.

The subject site comprises a stated area of 2.85 hectares, in the townland of Rashedog, with access to the site from the adjoining road, the R-250-7.

Donegal County Council granted permission for the proposals with five conditions, for reasons including preserving the amenities of the local area, preventing flooding, safeguarding the River Finn, and catering for orderly development.
