Portsalon Golf Club submits application to Donegal County Council
Portsalon Golf Club has applied to Donegal County Council for the extension and alteration of its existing clubhouse and other facilities.
Enda McElhinney, the secretary of Portsalon Golf Club, is the listed applicant for the submitted planning application.
The popular golf club’s planning application included construction of a covered entrance, a foyer display area with lift facilities, a meeting room, an office, a store, a tea room and male and female locker room facilities on the ground floor.
On the first floor, plans include a private members' area, new toilet facilities, and an extended balcony area.

Demolition of an existing store, as well as an upgrade to an existing entrance off access lane, a stone wall, an extension to an existing car park, new golf buggy parking and charging area, and a reconfiguration of practice pitches were included in the submitted application.
Portsalon Golf Club last applied to develop their clubhouse in 2008, and had made previous applications in 2003 and 1992.
Donegal County Council has set a decision due date for the application for January 3, 2026.
