The Old Rectory in Killybegs
A former Church of Ireland rectory in Killybegs has been placed on sale for a price just under €700,000.
The six-bedroom and three-bathroom refurbished property sits in a 7.6-acre site just south of Killybegs.
Presented to the market by Henry Kee & Son for €695,000, the company said the “exceptional property forms an integral part of the built heritage of the area, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a home of both historic significance and enduring charm.”

Dating back to around 1830, the Georgian-style residence is “a classic period feature that underscores the home’s original craftsmanship, including original shutters, enhancing the period character.”
The old rectory is associated with St John’s Church of Ireland Church in Killybegs, but there is a former Church of Ireland church located a short distance to the north-east of the building, which is now ruinous. This former church was in existence in 1622.
This former rectory was the home of a Reverend William Lodge, who was the rector of Killybegs for 23 years, and a Reverend John Gage Ball.
