Mayo man ordered to pay €218 fine and costs for Donegal Town parking offence

A Mayo resident was fined €80 plus ordered to pay €138 in costs for a parking offence in Donegal Town after a hearing at Donegal District Court. 

Francis Conroy, of 8 Western Pride Holiday Homes, Ballinrobe, Co Mayo, was found to be the registered owner of a motor vehicle parked without displaying a valid parking ticket in the manner required by Article 7 of the Donegal County Council (Donegal Town Car Parks) Bye-Laws 2004, contrary to Article 7(f) of the said Bye-Laws and Section 101(7A) and (7B) of the Road Traffic Act, 1961.

The incident occurred on August 9, 2025, at No.4 Car Park in Donegal Town.

Conroy did not appear at Donegal District Court at Ballyshannon Courthouse, and Judge Éiteáin Cunningham was satisfied to proceed in his absence. 

Judge Cunningham fined Conroy €80, plus costs of €138, payable within four months. 

The combined fine and costs for the offence was €218.
