Glenswilly GAA seeks planning for floodlighting at Pairc Naomh Columba

Donegal GAA Senior Football Club, Glenswilly GAA, have applied to Donegal County Council for the erection of six floodlight columns at their existing pitch at Pairc Naomh Columba. 

The three-time Donegal Senior Football Championship winners, who feature Michael Murphy amongst their ranks, have applied for a development to consist of six 21-metre-high galvanised floodlighting columns with hooded floodlights to the existing Gaelic pitch and all associated site works at Glenswilly GAA.

Former club manager and current Club Development Officer, Michael Canning, is the listed applicant for the planning application.

Donegal County Council has yet to set a decision due date for the application.

Glenswilly GAA were formed in 1982, and have had Intermediate and Junior success with their women’s teams, as well as reaching two Ulster finals at Senior and Intermediate level in their 46 years of existence. 

The club’s ground, Pairc Naomh Columba, was officially opened in May 2000, with a match between Donegal and Mayo.
