Letterkenny listed among top 10 environmentally conscious towns

Letterkenny has been ranked amongst the top 10 most environmentally conscious towns in Ireland according to a new study.

Cork-based electrical company, Buckley Electrical, conducted the study by analysing search behaviour across key environmentally related terms. 

By studying ten search terms between January 1st, 2021, and January 1st, 2026, Letterkenny was placed as the tenth most environmentally conscious town.

Greystones in Wicklow was declared the most environmentally conscious town in Ireland, followed by Navan, Lucan, Wicklow Town, Bray, Clonroche, Ratoath, Ennis, and Newbridge.

Kieran Buckley, Founder of Buckley Electrical, said: “What this data shows is that the environment and sustainability are very much at the front of people's minds across Ireland. 

“The strong performance of towns like Greystones highlights how awareness around your individual environmental impact is becoming part of everyday thinking.”
