Moves on motor insurance costs welcomed by Donegal TD

Moves to address the issue of motor insurance costs has been welcomed by a Donegal TD.

Reacting to confirmation that the Oireachtas Finance Committee will hold a number of meetings in September on this thorny issue, Deputy Pearse Doherty said anything that helps identify the reason for the cost increase has to be welcomed.

“It is my understanding that the Committee will invite a very wide range of experts and industry actors as well as campaigners into the Committee to hear all sides,” he said and added: “Each day that passes more and more drivers are landed with excessive quotes of up to two or three times their last premium.”
