Sean McInerney in the Red Chair and Graham Norton's reaction
A Donegal man has set the internet alight with his tale of how a newly wed groom shocked everyone at his wedding reception.
Sean McInerney, a salesman from Letterkenny who lives in London, took to the red chair at the end of Friday night's Graham Norton Show.
He described how, at a wedding reception he attended a few years ago, the groom stood up to give his speech, and asked everyone else to stand as well.
"Everybody was kind of giggling. Then he asked everyone to flip over their plate and, if there was a red dot on the bottom of their plate, to please stay standing.
"So everyone did it and there were eight guys left standing.
"Then he said,' Ladies and gentlemen, can you all please look at the eight gentlemen left standing? They have slept with my wife since we've been engaged. I am now going for an annulment.
"And he walked straight out of the room."
Graham Norton and guests Amy Adams, Chris O'Dowd, Jeremy Renner and Niall Horan were clearly gobsmacked by the story, with Graham Norton exclaiming, "Good one!" and Jeremy Renner rising to his feet applauding.
The story, and video, have since lit up the internet all over the world.
