Getting in some practice, the Transition Year students of the Abbey Vocational School in Donegal town adding some finishing touches to their preparations for Abbey's Got Talent
The Transition Year students at the Abbey Vocational School in Donegal town have always made great use of their transition year and this year is no exception with the students staging their very own talent show next week.
On Thursday next (April 11), the school hosts the final of Abbey’s Got Talent in the Abbey Hotel in Donegal town.
This show promises to be a fantastic night of high-quality entertainment with Noel Cunningham playing host for the evening. Noel is a very familiar and much-loved face on the Irish social scene.
Patrice Rooney of the AVS said: “Noel has been a loyal supporter of the Abbey Vocational School's many fundraising and PR events and we are delighted to have him on board once again.”
The judges in themselves will, without doubt, provide some great entertainment. Conal Gallen is well known for his quick wit and ability to make people laugh.
Niamh Currid from Ballyshannon has been Musical Director for Ballyshannon Musical Society for the past 19 years, and will bring her own professional touch to the night.
A former colleague of our own in the Democrat Martin McGinley who hails from Raphoe is one of the most accomplished traditional musicians in the country.
He is a former BBC journalist and editor with the Democrat group of newspapers and is now music development manager with the Donegal Music Education Partnership.
Without a doubt, a great night’s entertainment is in store on Thursday night in the Abbey Hotel.
