Dylan Browne McMonagle claimed his first classic win of his career in the Irish St Leger at the weekend.
The Letterkenny jockey won on 3/1 shot Al Riffa for Joseph O’Brien in the Group 1 race.
The pair won the one mile six furlong race at the Curragh by an impressive four lengths from 2/1 shot Amiloc.
It was a first classic winner for the Letterkenny jockey, who also took his first Group 1 win on the same horse, spoke to RacingTV after the race.
“I’m delighted to get it and for the horse, connections, and Joseph. He was coming in here as the fancied one for the weekend in my eyes, the conditions and trip were good and things couldn’t have went any better.
He’ll have no problem going back into training next year and they can look at some cups with him but he’s a horse that feels like he can go another couple of furlongs no problem, the world is his oyster.

“He’s definitely one of my favorites and he owes me nothing now, whatever he does after this.
“It’s a big relief, in all these races I’m so privileged to be riding in them and getting these opportunities so just a massive thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way.”
Elsewhere, there were successes for other Donegal jockeys, with Luke McAteer taking an impressive winner on the same card.
The Rathmullan man won the opening race of the day on board 50/1 shot for trainer Patrick Foley.
And over in Scotland, Oisin Orr was victorious for Richard Fahey.
Orr won at Musselburgh on 8/1 shot Komorkis in the five furlong novice stakes.
