Six people rescued by Lough Swilly RNLI off Fahan coast
Lough Swilly RNLI has assisted in the rescue of six people aboard their small boat close to Fahan Marina.
The incident occurred last Friday afternoon, August 1st, after the rib developed mechanical problems.
The Malin Head Coast Guard dispatched Lough Swilly RNLI at 03.42pm to assist the small vessel in difficulty.
The Inshore Lifeboat was launched, and the crew made their way to the stricken vessel off the Fahan coast and arrived shortly after being dispatched.

The volunteer lifeboat crew established a tow and took the vessel to Fahan Marina. Lough Swilly RNLI then returned to Ned's Point to refuel and prepare for their next service again.
A spokesperson for Lough Swilly RNLI is advising members of the public that if “you're in difficulty in or on the water, or see someone in trouble, please dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.”
