Former Buncrana HSE building to begin a new chapter in major nationwide auction

The building at Lisfannon has a guide price of €85,000.

A well-known property in Buncrana is set to begin a new chapter this month, as a former HSE-owned building in Lisfannon Industrial Estate goes to auction with O’Donnellan & Joyce on October 24.

Once home to a local cheese production facility, the building has long been part of the area’s industrial landscape.

Standing on a site within the established IDA Industrial Park, just 2 miles south of Buncrana and 12 miles from Derry city, it represents both heritage and opportunity for future investment.

The property extends to approximately 224 square metres and, while in need of refurbishment, offers scope for renewal as commercial or light industrial space, or potential redevelopment, subject to planning.

With a guide price of €85,000, it presents an affordable entry point for businesses or investors seeking a foothold in Donegal’s growing northwest corridor.

Auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan describes the sale as part of a wider story of regeneration.

“Across the country, we’re seeing former State-owned and community buildings finding new life. These properties often have strong local connections and great potential; they’re ready to serve their communities again in a new way.”

The Friday, October 24 live-stream auction will see properties from across Ireland offered to bidders online and by phone, following the success of last month’s event, which drew strong national and international interest.

For full details or to register to bid, visit www.odj.ie or contact O’Donnellan & Joyce, Galway at 091 564 212.
