Buncrana Foróige Club to host celebration of youth work and young people

Foróige in Buncrana will join communities across Ireland to celebrate Oíche na hÓige/Youth Night - a new national event celebrating youth work, youth clubs, and young people.

As part of Oíche na hÓige 2025, Buncrana Foróige Club will host a special event at The Exchange, Castle Avenue, Buncrana on Monday, November 24 from 7.00pm to 8.30pm, showcasing the energy, creativity, and achievements of young people and youth work in the local community.

The evening will feature food, interactive activities and displays to give an opportunity to: meet club members; learn about and experience some of the activities the club does in the community; and find out what and how you can be involved in supporting our club.

“Youth Night is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our young people and acknowledge them and celebrate what makes youth work special”, said Andrew Garvey-Williams, Buncrana Foróige Club leader.

“It’s about recognising the young people who make up our club and the adult volunteers and workers who support them.”

Inspired by the success of events like Culture Night, Oíche na hÓige is a new national celebration supported by the Department of Education and Youth under the Opportunities for Youth strategy, in partnership with the Education and Training Boards, the National Youth Council of Ireland (NYCI), and the youth work sector.

The initiative aims to shine a light on the vibrant and diverse network of youth clubs and services at the heart of communities across Ireland, where young people learn, grow, and thrive.
