Junior Eurovision is back, with talented young Donegal singers encouraged to apply

Jessica McKean, from St Johnston, represented Ireland at the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in France. Entries are now open for the 2026 competition.

Do you have a great singing voice? Could you be the next Dermot Kennedy or Olivia Dean? Are you between the ages of 9 and 14 years this Autumn? Well, this could be your big break!

TG4 and Adare Productions are looking for the Top 10 young singers or groups across the country to join them in studio, where they will battle it out to represent Ireland in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest later this year.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a talented youngster or group to represent Ireland at an international level.

Budding singers from Donegal are encouraged to take part and possibly follow in the footsteps of Jessica McKean, from St Johnston, who won the final of the national selection process to represent Ireland at the 2023 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in France.

Auditions will take place throughout the country during March 2026. From those auditions, ten talented musicians will be chosen to compete in the studio for the ultimate prize: the chance to represent Ireland at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The winner will go head-to-head with contestants from over 16 other European countries at the 2026 Junior Eurovision Song Contest. With over 7.5 million viewers across Europe, the show is a spectacular event.

“This is the biggest opportunity of its kind for young singers across Europe, giving them a chance to represent their country to an audience of over 7 million people. We have nothing else of this scale in Ireland; it's the experience of a lifetime and a massive opportunity for talented young singers,” explains Fiona Fitzpatrick, Head of Delegation for Ireland, Junior Eurovision.

Applications are open to solos, duets, and groups of up to a maximum of six people. To apply, all you need is a 40-second clip of the applicant singing.

Apply now via www.tg4.ie/junioreurovision. Or for further information, contact: 083 132 2683 or email: junioreurovision@adareproductions.ie

The deadline for applications is Saturday, February 28, at 11.55pm.
