Donagh National School in Carndonagh celebrated World Book Day in colourful style last week, as pupils transformed their classrooms into the magical worlds of witches, wizards and yellow brick roads.

The school community embraced a Wicked and Wizard of Oz theme, with children arriving dressed as their favourite characters from the beloved stories.

Green-faced witches, brave Dorothys, scarecrows, tin men and even a few lions could be spotted throughout the corridors as excitement built for the day’s activities.

Teachers and staff also joined the fun, helping to bring the literary celebration to life through storytelling, classroom reading and creative discussion about the books that inspired the theme.
