Vehicle failed to stop at a crime prevention checkpoint in the border area before being stopped using a stinger

Knives and mobile phones were among a number of items seized by Gardaí after a car burst through a checkpoint in the border area before being stopped using a stinger device.

Buncrana Gardaí were conducting a crime prevention checkpoint on Saturday night, October 17, when the vehicle failed to stop and continued through the checkpoint in a dangerous manner.

A stinger device was successfully deployed, bringing the car to a halt.

The vehicle was subsequently abandoned and seized by Gardaí, who recovered a number of items following a search, including knives and phones.
