Donegal County Council is exploring potential route corridors for the Buncrana to Carndonagh greenway
Further public consultations for the proposed Buncrana to Carndonagh greenway are to take place next month. The project is at the options selection stage which involves the development and assessment of potential route corridors to determine a preferred option. The proposed greenway is part of plans to create a ring of greenways around the peninsula.
Donegal County Council said that following the feedback received during the first non-statutory public consultation held in April this year, a number of route corridor options have been identified. The purpose of the public consultation is to inform the public of the option selection process and to invite feedback on the route corridor options.
Two in-person public consultation events will take place in Buncrana and Carndonagh.
The consultations will take place in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel in Buncrana on Wednesday, December 6 from 2pm to 8pm and at the Carndonagh Public Services Centre on the Malin Road, Carndonagh on Thursday, December 7 from 2pm to 8pm.
Members of the project team will be available to discuss any queries or concerns regarding the project.
Public displays will be made available from December 8 until January 11 at the Carndonagh Public Services Centre and at Buncrana Community Library.
Additional project information is available at BuncranaCarndonaghgreenway.ie from Monday, December 4 or by email at buncranacarndonaghgreenway@aecom.com.
