Delight for Cockhill woman with €200,000 win in draw run by local football clubs

A Cockhill woman started 2025 with a life-changing moment as she won €200,000 in a draw run by three Inishowen football clubs.

Breid Colhoun won the massive draw, which took place at the Halfway House, Burnfoot on New Year’s night, in which Carndonagh FC, Cockhill Celtic and Aileach FC combined their efforts for the fundraising draw they named €200K for New Year's Day.

​In addition to the amazing top prize, the draw also had an array of other fantastic prizes to win. These included a €5,000 bathroom makeover, which was won by Sean Hegarty, Burnfoot; a Mediterranean cruise that went to David McGeoghan, Moville, as well as €1.000 vouchers from local businesses, weekend away trips, televisions and workwear vouchers.
