Cllr Kavanagh welcomed the funding for Scoil Cholmcille and Letterkenny Youth and Community Club
Councillor Jimmy Kavanagh has congratulated Scoil Cholmcille and Letterkenny Youth and Community Club for securing funding for new facilities.
They are among 17 Donegal projects that have been allocated a total of €1.3 million under the 2025 Community Recognition Fund.
Cllr Kavanagh posted: “Congratulations to Scoil Cholmcille and in particular Emma McGrath and to Paddy Delap, Claire and all the team at Letterkenny Youth and Community Club, both of whom had successful applications to the Community Recognition Fund.
“Scoil Cholmcille received €100,000 for a new outdoor classroom and the youth and community club received €149,917 for improvements including improved access facilities in the building.
“Good news and well deserved funding for very worthwhile projects.”

The 17 Donegal projects are Stranorlar Parish (upgrade of old parish centre) €50,000, Coiste Forbhartha Dobhair Teo Bunbeg (upgrade of equipment for centre) €52,000, Buncrana Community Centre (restoration of roof) €100,000, Barrick Hill Town Park Carndonagh (develop covered space) €50,000, Colgan Community & Resource Centre (resurfacing of outdoor area) €50,000, Carrick Regeneration Group (purchase of site in village for civic space) €130,000, Scoil Chroine Dungloe (redevelopment of playing pitch) €72,000, Dunkineely Community CLG (purchase of building for community use) €70,000, Comharchumann Fobratha Dhún Lúiche (upgrade works & new equipment) €82,000, Greencastle Community Centre (upgrade of centre) €50,000, Cill Chartha CLG (provision of changing facilities with toilets) €50,000, Kilmacrennan Community Development CLG (community gym/fitness suite) €75,000, Scoil Cholmcille Letterkenny (outdoor classroom and learning space) €100,000, Letterkenny Youth & Community Centre (upgrade to existing building) €149,917, Malin Head Community Centre (refurbishment of centre) €50,000, Donegal County Council (development of walkway in from Mulroy Woods Hotel into Milford) €125,000, Friends of Rossnowlagh (development of outdoor gym) €50,000.
