Tributes are being paid to Tommy Connors, who died following a ‘weather-related’ incident.

Mr Connors, who was in his 40s, was fatally injured in an incident at a domestic residence in Letterkenny on Friday. It is understood that Mr Connors was repairing the shed roof during Storm Amy.

Tributes have poured in across social media, where family and friends are in shock. The tributes read: “Rest in Peace Uncle Tommy, can’t believe it,” and “Never be forgotten.” Another family tribute says, “God-brother, I hope you are happy wherever you are,” and “May God be good to you, Tommy.”

The tragedy occurred at 4:15pm on Friday, shortly after the red weather warning for wind came into effect. His body was removed to the morgue at Letterkenny University Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course. Gardaí continue to carry out enquiries, and the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of those enquiries.

A file will be prepared for the Coroner.
