Glenleary Team at Stars in Saddle Open Day with Seamus Campbell from Special Olympics
Stars in the Saddle, Donegal's newest Special Olympics Equestrian Club, is thrilled to announce the success of its recent open days held at Glenleary Riding School and Malin Stables.
The open days, attended by a diverse and enthusiastic group of individuals, marked the official launch of this exciting venture.
Established by Lisa Moore, who runs Glenleary Riding School and an advocate for inclusive equestrian sports, Stars in The Saddle aims to provide opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities to participate in equestrian activities and competitions under the banner of Special Olympics.

Lisa expressed her gratitude, stating, "We are overwhelmed by the tremendous support shown by everyone who attended the open days at Glenleary Riding School and Malin Stables. It is really heartening to see such enthusiasm for our mission to promote inclusivity and empowerment through equestrian sports."
Seamus Campbell, a representative from Special Olympics, also shared his thoughts on the launch, saying, "Stars in The Saddle represents a significant milestone in our efforts to promote inclusive sports participation. We commend Lisa, Jennie and the team for their dedication and vision in creating this remarkable opportunity for individuals with intellectual disabilities to thrive in equestrian sports."

The open days provided attendees with an opportunity to learn more about Stars in The Saddle and its vision. Prospective members had the chance to interact with the team members and experienced riders, gaining valuable insights into the club's activities.
Jennie Peoples from Equi-Me Therapeutic Riding is delighted to be involved with the Stars in the Saddle Special Olympics club. "We are really looking forward to this adventure with our community," Jennie added. "The response from individuals interested in joining the club has been fantastic, and we already have members signed up. We are still open to anyone who’d like to join and become a member, please get in touch."
