Proceeds from the annual Swilly Inn Jumper Party in Letterkenny “exceeded and doubled” all expectations.

The pre-Christmas event was in aid of Greg Fitzgerald’s recovery, with the initial target set at €4,000 from the night of entertainment, which also included a huge raffle, and managed to gather an amazing €9,300.

Letterkenny native Greg suffered a stroke in March of last year and is continuing his recovery at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire. You can still make a contribution to Karaoke Christmas Jumper Party for Greg's iDonate here.

“We've got a bit more donations online and we're now over €9,300 so that is double what we would normally make at the Christmas jumper party,” event organiser Claire Moore told DonegalLive.

“I would just say it is a testament to who Greg is and to his family are, that people wanted to come and support him. We've  exceeded and even doubled everything and it's because of who it was for and we’d just like to give a big thank you to all the sponsors, everyone who bought tickets and helped out on the night.”

The event has been running since 2009 and will be hosted by Adam Moore with DJ Dano - Daniel McGarrigle - who provided the entertainment, with Adam’s sister Claire, Stephen McConnell, Louise Toner, Emmet Toner and Liz Crealey all part of the committee.
