Met Eireann have warned that Donegal could be in line for some wintry weather today, Wednesday.
Weather conditions are expected to be changeable with heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms possible before temperatures falling to freeze later tonight.
"Today will be cold and breezy with sunshine and scattered blustery showers," they say. "Some of the showers will be heavy, with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible in the west of the country, while wintry falls can't be ruled out over higher ground. Highest afternoon temperatures of 6 or 7 degrees, but feeling colder due to a brisk northwesterly winds.
"Showers will die out early on tonight, leaving mostly dry and clear conditions. Cold with frost and possibly icy patches developing as temperatures drop to between -1 and +3 degrees, or locally lower in the east, as moderate northwest winds ease light and variable. Cloud will increase in the west towards morning though, with a few patches of light rain or drizzle developing."
