Planning permission has been sought for a major new development to boost Dunfanaghy's tourist numbers.

An application has been lodged with Donegal County Council seeking the go-ahead for the development of a caravan, motorhome and camping park.

The proposed development, at Kill, Dunfanaghy, would include 65 static caravan pitches and 10 motorhome pitches.

The proposal was submitted by Margaret Stewart to the local authority last week.

The development also includes a facility building that would house a reception area, toilets and showers, as well as associated ancillary rooms.

The developer is looking for the green light to construct a site maintenance and storage building as well as an access roadway.

The application also provides for connection to the public sewer, signage and all other site development works.

Donegal County Council say that a decision is due on April 20, 2023.
