Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information in relation to an alleged arson attack at a proposed housing complex for Ukrainian refugees in Buncrana.

At around 11:45pm on Thursday, May 11, gardaí were alerted to a fire in Lisfannon. Fire services attended the scene and extinguished the fire. There was no one inside the building at the time of the fire.

Substantial damage was caused to the building which is believed to have been started deliberately. Gardaí are appealing to anyone with dash-cam footage and who may have travelled on the main Derry to Buncrana Road, or who were in the general area of Ludden/Lisfannon at the time to make footage available to gardaí.

Anyone who observed any suspicious activity is asked to come forward. You can contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074 93 20540. You can also contact the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.
