Changes proposed by the Care Referendum and Family Referendum have both been vehemently rejected in Donegal.
And 'No' was certainly the theme of the day, with no representatives from the Yes campaign or from any political parties which supported the amendments present at the count centre.
Indeed, the only political party represented was Aontu, with local member Mary T Sweeney and a number of supporters present throughout the day.
The following results were announced by Returning Officer, County Registrar Geraldine O'Connor at the count centre in the Aura Centre, Letterkenny:
Care Referendum
Yes 7,834
No 41,030
The total turnout for the Donegal constituency was 49,366 from an electorate of 123,452, representing 39.6% of those eligible to vote.
Family Referendum
Yes 9,669
No 39,181
The total turnout for the Donegal constituency was 49,363 from an electorate of 123,452, representing approximately 40% of those eligible to vote.
