Ribbon cut as Shellybean Bakery opens the doors in Glenties

A new bakery has been opened in Glenties today.

ShellyBean cut the ribbon on their new bakery which offers a wide variety of sweet treats, milkshakes and smoothies.  The bakery is situated on Glenties Main Street and is open Thursday through to Saturday from 10am until 4pm.

“It seems like a lifetime ago when I started the plan for the shop but in reality, it was only 9 weeks ago,” the owner Michelle commented. “It has been a fantastic experience and I am beyond excited for all of you to share it with me.”

The grand opening coincides with The Festival of Lughnasa starting in Glenties. This five-day festival offers a programme of events influenced by Brian Friel and the traditions of Lughnasa.

Shellybean previously operated a bakery in Ardara in December 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic and has now returned with a full shop in Glenties, ready for a new venture.
