In an update, the state-owned company says some post offices are open but that Department of Social Protection payments may be delayed due to storm damage to communications systems

More than 70 post offices remain closed across the country

An Post has confirmed that more than 70 post offices remain closed across the country following Storm Éowyn, including five in Donegal.

In an update, the state-owned company says some post offices are open but that Department of Social Protection payments may be delayed due to storm damage to communications systems. Bruckless, Clonmany, Letterkenny DSU, Lettermacward and Pettigo are also closed due to power outages.

“We are working on identifying the alternative location for DSP payment collection,” An Post have said.

Meanwhile, Breenagh, Carrigart, Mountcharles and Portnoo are “open, with possible delay to some DSP payments.”
