Paul Hume has been elected onto the board of the Irish League of Credit Unions
Letterkenny Credit Union Chairperson Paul Hume has been elected onto the board of the Irish League of Credit Unions.
Mr Hume was elected to replace outgoing member Jim Toner.
A nephew of the late John Hume - a pioneering figure in the Credit Union movement - Paul has been a long-time chair of the Letterkenny Credit Union.
The Irish League of Credit Unions (ILCU) is the largest credit union representative body on the island of Ireland and was founded in 1960.
The ILCU today has an affiliated membership of more than 270 credit unions in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.
Mr Toner served as the Chair of Chapter 1, an area that covered parts of Northern Ireland and all of Donegal.
In 1964, John Hume became the youngest ever President of the ILCU aged 27 years, and served until 1968.
