Celebrate what makes Donegal special this #LoveDonegal Day 2025

Donegal will be celebrated from its breath-taking landscapes and rich cultural heritage to its vibrant communities, innovation, and spirit of welcome

This year’s #LoveDonegal Day will take place on Wednesday, September 10.

Now in its sixth consecutive year, this much-loved initiative invites people in Donegal and those from across the globe with a connection to Donegal to celebrate what makes Donegal so special - from its breath-taking landscapes and rich cultural heritage to its vibrant communities, innovation, and spirit of welcome.

Last year’s #LoveDonegal campaign was the most successful to date, reaching an incredible 99 million people worldwide over the course of the day and close to 125 million over the weekend. Thousands of inspiring posts, stunning images, and personal stories shared the essence of Donegal with the world, reinforcing its reputation as a place of beauty, culture, and community spirit. Building on that success, this year aims to connect even more people, wherever they may be.

This year’s #LoveDonegal Day also coincides with Donegal hosting TBEX (Travel Blog Exchange) Europe 2025, one of the world’s leading gatherings of travel creators, bloggers, and influencers. Taking place in Donegal that same week, September 9 - 12, TBEX will bring global storytellers to our shores - providing an exciting opportunity to share Donegal’s story with an even wider international audience.

This initiative is co-ordinated by Donegal County Council’s Economic Development Division.

Déanfar ceiliúradh ar #DúnnanGallAbú i mbliana ar an Chéadaoin 10 Meán Fómhair 2025.

Is é seo an séú bliain as a chéile den fheachtas seo a bheith ar siúl agus tá spéis mhór léirithe ann go dtí seo. Tugtar cuireadh do dhaoine as gach cearn den domhan ceangal a chothú le Dún na nGall agus ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar na rudaí speisialta a bhaineann leis an Chontae — áilleacht tírdhreacha, oidhreacht shaibhir chultúrtha, pobail bheo bhríomhara, an nuálaíocht agus céad mílte fáilte i gcónaí.

Bhí feachtas #DúnnanGallAbú na bliana seo caite ar an cheann ba rathúla go dtí seo. Cothaíodh ceangal le 99 milliún duine ar fud an domhain i gcaitheamh an lae agus suas le 125 milliún duine i gcaitheamh an deireadh seachtaine. Roinneadh na mílte postáil spreagúil, grianghraf álainn, agus scéal pearsanta a léirigh croí an Chontae ar bhonn domhanda, rud a tharraingíonn aird arís agus arís eile ar áilleacht, ar chultúr agus ar spiorad pobail Dhún na nGall. Táthar ag súil le tógáil air sin i mbliana agus ceangal a chothú le tuilleadh daoine, cibé áit ar domhan a bhfuil siad.

Beidh #DúnnanGallAbú na bliana seo ar siúl fad is a bheidh TBEX Eorpach 2025 (imeacht do bhlagálaithe taistil ) á reáchtáil i nDún na nGall. Tá sé seo ar cheann de na tionóil is mó ar domhan ina gcruinníonn idir chruthaitheoirí taistil, bhlagálaithe agus tionchairí. Beidh sé ar siúl i nDún na nGall an tseachtain chéanna ina mbeidh an feachtas ar siúl (9-12 Meán Fómhair). Tabharfaidh TBEX deis do lucht cruthaithe scéil ar fud an domhain cuairt a thabhairt ar chladaí an Chontae - is deis iontach í seo le scéal agus stair Dhún na nGall a chur i láthair lucht éisteachta domhanda ar ardán idirnáisiúnta.

Tá an tionscadal seo á chomhordú ag Rannóg Forbartha Eacnamaíochta Chomhairle Contae Dhún na nGall agus creideann Cathaoirleach na Comhairle, an Clr. Paul Canning gur deis é an feachtas #DúnnanGallAbú do gach duine a bhfuil a gcroí istigh i nDún na nGall, an fáth a bhfuil sin amhlaidh a chur in iúl trí úsáid a bhaint as #DúnnanGallAbú. Is ceiliúradh bliantúil é seo ina mbíonn muid mórtasach gur as an áit seo dúinn. Nuair a léiríonn daoine na fáthanna a bhfuil a gcroí i nDún na nGall, tá siad ag gríosú daoine eile le cuairt a thabhairt ar an Chontae agus infheistíocht a dhéanamh ann.

Iarrtar ar rannpháirtithe póstálacha a roinnt, macasamhail: Áilleacht nádúrtha Dhún na nGall ó Chionn Mhálanna go Sliabh Liag; Bia, ceardaíocht, cultúr, ceol agus traidisiúin na háite; Scéalta pearsanta faoi bheith ag éirí aníos, nó ag filleadh nó ag tabhairt cuairte ar Dhún na nGall; Scéalta faoi ghnólachtaí atá ag éirí leo agus deiseanna cianoibre; Tograí pobail agus laochra áitiúla a dhéanann difear ceart sa chontae.

Is cuid d’iarrachtaí Chomhairle Contae Dhún na nGall le brandáil agus cur chun cinn na contae a chothú é #DúnnanGallAbú, trí Donegal.ie, rud a chuidíonn le Dún na nGall a chur chun tosaigh mar áit le cónaí ann, le hoibriú ann, le hinfheistíocht a dhéanamh ann agus le spaisteoireacht ann.

Is cuma más duine áitiúil thú, más ball de Diaspóra Dhún na nGall thú nó más duine thú a bhfuil do chroí istigh i nDún na nGall, tugann muid cuireadh duit a bheith rannpháirteach san fheachtas trí ghrianghraif, trí scéalta, trí fhíseáin agus trí theachtaireachtaí a roinnt ar na meáin shóisialta agus trí úsáid a bhaint as na haischlibeanna #DúnnanGallAbú agus #LoveDonegal.

Tá tuilleadh eolais maidir leis an dóigh ar féidir leat a bheith rannpháirteach ann le fáil ar www.donegal.ie/lovedonegal nó lean muid ar na meáin shóisialta @Donegal_ie.

Tagaimís le chéile i mí Mheán Fómhair le ceiliúradh a dhéanamh ar an chontae ar leith atá againn agus léireoidh muid meas agus mórtas dár gcontae féin don saol mór #DúnnanGallAbú.
