ESB Networks is working to restore the outages

Power outages have been reported across Donegal this morning.

A fallen tree in Bridgend is believed to have caused a power outage in the surrounding areas.

ESB Networks have restored an outage affecting 81 customers in Newtowncunningham, while an outage affecting 28 customers in Ballymacarry is being restored. 

Inishowen Councillor Jack Murray shared: “I'm aware that the power is out in Bridgend and that a tree is down near the 19th Bar. I suspect that's connected.”

Councillor Joy Beard of Inishowen MD also shared the update.

“Stay safe and check on any neighbours who may need assistance,” she said.

Elsewhere, 101 customers are affected by an outage in Ballyshannon. 519 customers are affected in Cullion, Letterkenny, with an estimated restoration time at 11:45 this morning.

118 customers are affected in Creeslough, with restoration time currently unknown. A further 175 customers are affected in the area, where the estimated restoration time is 12:30 today.

“We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible,” shared ESB Networks.

Storm Floris is bringing wet and windy weather to Donegal today.

A Status Yellow Rain warning was issued from 2am until 10am for Donegal this morning and a Status Yellow Wind warning will be in place until 4pm this evening, having come into effect at 4am.

Possible impacts include dangerous traveling conditions, structural damage, fallen trees, debris and loose objects, power outages and wave overtopping.
