Jayden McElhinney was on top of the podium
Jayden McElhinney had a superb day at the third round of the Rotax Max Challenge on Sunday.
The Manorcunningham karting ace left the Kiltorcan Raceway in Kilkenny with the Golden Helmet Trophy.
McElhinney was first in heat 1 and heat 2 before finishing second in heat three.
In the final, ran in heavy rainfall after competing on dry ground all day, McElhinney won by a whopping 15.6 seconds.
After a superb 2024, the youngster began the Rotax Mac Challenge series with a third-place finish at Nutts Corner in April and he was second at Whiteriver last month.
McElhinney competes in the Micro MAX Class - and is already one to watch in the sport.
Last year, he was recognised as the best rookie and delivered the best cadet drive of the season.

His passion for karting began in 2023 and his achievements on the track include not only his success in the UKC but also standout performances in his first overseas race at Whilton Mill in Daventry in February 2025, where he secured fourth place and posted the second-fastest lap time in the final.
