William Creighton has closed the gap on Callum Devine to five seconds at the top of the standings in the Donegal International Rally.

The Down native has gone fastest in four of the last five stages as he gets closer to Devine in the lead, with just 4.9 seconds separating the pair now.

Creighton, with Liam Regan on the notes, recorded a time of 4:24 on the Garrygort stage was 0.8 seconds quicker than Devine and Noel O'Sullivan as the gap is the smallest it has been since stage 2 yesterday.

Welshman Meirion Evans is still in third place and 19.1 seconds behind, just 1.3 seconds clear of New Zealand's Hayden Paddon.

2022 winner Josh Moffett is in fifth place and nearly a minute behind the lead, with David Kelly from Donegal Town just 1.2 seconds behind him.

The unfortunate Jon Armstrong went second fastest through the twelfth stage and continues to put in impressive times, although he has been cut adrift again due to mechanical issues.

The Kesh native, with Bruckless man Shane Byrne navigating, lost 30 seconds in Coolcross on Friday but he clawed it back to go second after the first stage of Saturday.

However, his luck got worse in back-to-back stages, losing almost a minute on High Glen and Lough Keel in stage nine and ten.

Father and son are battling behind Armstrong, with Declan Boyle 32 seconds clear of his son Michael, while Aidan Wray rounds out the top ten.

Kevin Gallagher and Ryan Moore lead by 1:45 in the modified section from Aaron McIntyre and Derry Long, while Kyle McBride and Darragh Mullen are 55 seconds clear in the RC4 class in their Peugeot 208 Rally4.
