David Kelly had been enjoying a great rally in Sligo right up until the final stage
Kilkenny's Eddie Doherty claimed victory in the 2025 FAAC/Sligo Park Hotel Sligo Stages Rally on Sunday afternoon.
Doherty had been locked in a close battle with Donegal Town’s David Kelly throughout much of the event, but the contest was ultimately decided on the final stage around Knocknashee. A spin from Kelly caused a temporary blockage on the route, effectively ending his challenge.

Once the stage resumed, Doherty pushed ahead and finished 10.9 seconds clear of fellow Donegal competitor Declan Boyle.
The win marks Doherty’s second triumph of the season alongside co-driver Tom Murphy from Limerick, adding to their earlier success in Kerry back in April.
