A recall of hundreds of bags, that were sold in Ireland, has been issued as it’s believed they pose serious health and environmental risks.
JAKO AG is carrying out a recall of various JAKO sports bags, personal bags and backpacks.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the products present a health risk and an environmental risk. The products contain a high quantity of perfluorooctanoic-acid (PFOA) related substances. PFOAs are suspected to be carcinogenic and pose a risk to the environment.

The brand is JAKO and the impacted items include:
Sports Bag Challenge with base compartment in colours black melange, dark blue melange, grey melange and anthracite melange. The model is 2021 and three affected units were sold in Ireland. 
Sports Bag Challenge in colours black melange, dark blue melange, grey melange and anthracite melange. The model is 1921 and 116 products have been affected.

Personal Bag Challenge in colours black melange, dark blue, melange, grey melange and anthracite melange. The model is 1721 and there were 10 impacted items sold in Ireland.

Backpack Challenge in colours black melange, dark blue melange, grey melange and anthracite melange. The model is 1821 and there are 90 affected products.

If you purchased one of these bags, please stop using it immediately. Customers can identify an affected product by the bag's model/item number.
Affected products can be returned to JAKO with a free return label to receive a replacement item of at least equal value or a refund of the purchase price via the original payment method.
