Rising Cranford AC ace Caolan McFadden is a part of the Ireland Under-17 team heading to Scotland for this weekend's UK Cross Country Challenge.

McFadden is one of 12 Irish athletes travelling to compete in Perth with Finn Valley AC's Mark Connolly forming a part of the management.

With no Celtic Cross Country this year, the Athletics Ireland Juvenile Committee felt it was vital for future development that a squad travelled to gain valuable international experience as the athletes progress into the junior ranks.

This squad was selected from the 2022 National Under-17 Cross Country Championships in December.

McFadden won bronze in the under-17 race in Cork having won the under-16 gold on home soil at Rosapenna.
