Oisín Ó Gailín and Eilish Flanagan
It was a record-breaking night for two Finn Valley AC athletes in the United States.
Oisín Ó Gailín and Eilish Flanagan hit significant indoor times over 3000m and 5000m.
Ó Gailín finished second in the 3000m at the Washington Husky Classic in Seattle.
The Ballybofey man finished in 7:57.22.
It is a new Donegal indoor record but the time also represents the fastest ever time, indoor or outdoor, over the distance by a Donegal athlete.
Eilish Flanagan ran a new Ulster indoor record of 15:33.37 in Boston in a 5000m.
Flanagan was competing at Boston University and gave another reminder of her standing.
The previous mark (15:36.05) was held by her twin sister, Roisin, who clocked the time last year in Boston.
Eilish’s time - fourth in the all-time Irish list - came after she ran a sub-9 3000m the previous week.
