Caitriona Jennings after taking a fine silver medal over 50k on Sunday.
Letterkenny woman Caitriona Jennings finished second in the 50k event at the Canyons Endurance in California on Sunday.
Jennings finished in four hours, 17 minutes and 47 seconds to take the silver medal.
American Heather Jackson took gold in 4:09:36 with Emkay Sullivan, also from the United States, just three seconds behind Jennings, taking bronze in 4:17:50.
The race was the first Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB) race of the 2023 season and was held in Auburn, California - the endurance running capital of the world.
The race was said to ‘capture the spirit and origins of trail running in the Sierras of California’.
Jennings has also qualified for the UTMB World Series finals, which will be held at the end of August in Chamonix, France.
