Taylor Parke has his hand raised at the National Stadium.
Taylor Parke wants to continue on his winning ways in Scotland this weekend.
The ‘Blonde Bomber’ from Raphoe Boxing Club is one of the lead protagonists on a 14-strong Donegal squad that will compete at the William Wallace Box Cup in Stirling.
Parke has won two Irish titles this year and hopes to land an Irish vest in the coming weeks having started training with an underage Irish High Performance squad on Sunday in Dublin.
“It still feels great and I want more now,” the Glenmaquin teenager told Donegal Live.
“It was good to get in for the training at the weekend. It will be a lot of help for me in the future. That was my first session. I’m hoping to get an international tournament now for Ireland.”
Last month, Parke defeated Donnacha Beagan in the Irish Junior Cadet 35kgs final at the National Stadium - coming from a round behind to win.
In April, Parke overcame Calvin Stokes from Olympic BC to land the Boy 3 35kgs title.
He said: “It was great to bring an Irish title back to a small club. I have been training harder and I’m stronger now.”
The Royal and Prior Comprehensive student stepped through the doors of the boxing club five years ago and was instantly hooked.
He said: “I just came down and loved it. I came down by myself and liked it straight away and stuck at it.”
Parke goes at 37kgs in Scotland this weekend - and has no intention of settling for anything other than the top of the podium.
He said: “This will be a good experience. I want to bring home gold again.”
