Donegal duo set for European Down Syndrome Swimming Championships

Two Donegal swimmers have been confirmed for the European Down Syndrome Swimming Championships.

Letterkenny woman Anna Hennessy and Eoin Rooney from Ballyshannon are among the seven Irish swimmers selected.

They will represent the Irish Down Syndrome Sporting Organisation.

The Championships take place in Padova, Italy, in September.

Katie Troy, Kevin Kennedy, Eoghan Ashe, Robbie English and David Hogg have also been selected.

Last year, Anna competed at the Down Syndrome World Swimming Championships in Albuferia, Portugal.

There, she attained three personal bests in the 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke events while competing against athletes from 23 countries.
