Ryan McHugh has finished second in the Junior British Rally.

The Frosses man, with Arthur Kierans on notes, took second place in the Cambrian Rally and those points were enough to take second place, overall, in the JBR Championship.

Taking to social media, the Donegal driver said: “Wrapping up our British Rally Championship campaign on the Cambrian Rally finish ramp!

“We managed a P2 today, but with Craig Rahill not opting to scoring points, we took the maximum points, securing second place in the JBRC championship. Heading into the final round with an outside chance of winning, we gave it everything.

“Competing across the water wasn’t in the original plan at the start of the year so to finish as runners-up feels like a huge achievement after a late start to the campaign!

“Massive congratulations to Robert Proudlock on winning the JBRC Championship!

“This season wouldn’t have been possible without our sponsors, who stood by us through every high and low.

“Thanks to Arthur Kierans on the notes for stepping in and keeping us on point in the British events

“My brother Neil from NMH Motorsport who ran a faultless car all year with support from Lee and my father.”
