Silver for Joshua Magee and Moya Ryan at Welsh International Open 

The mixed doubles pair had a fine semi-final win over English duo Oliver Butler and Sian Kelly on Saturday but they found the going a little too tough in the decider against the number one seeds from Spain

Raphoe’s Joshua Magee and Clare native Moya Ryan had to settle for the silver medal at the weekend as they came up short in the mixed double final at the Welsh International Open. 

The pair seen off number seven seeds Oliver Butler and Sian Kelly of England 21-11 and 21-10 in the last four to make Sunday’s decider.  

In the final they faced the number one seeds from Spain Ruben Garcia and Lucia Rodriguez but were defeated 21-13 and 21-11.
