Matthew McCole took victory in Poland as part of an Ulster HP team
Matthew McCole won gold in Poland at the weekend.
The Illies Golden Gloves light-middleweight was part of an Ulster High Performance squad in Warsaw.
At the Capital Team Cup in honour of Poland’s former Olympic gold medallist Jerzy Kulej, McCole impressed with two wins by unanimous decision.
On Friday evening, McCole defeated Andrew Tudor Labada from Romania.
In the final on Saturday, McCole proved too strong for Poland’s Michal Bultrowicz
Dungloe man McCole was on a five-man Ulster team and returned to winning ways having been edged out by Eugene McKeever in a National Elite semi-final last month.
